Meet our skincare specialist Brittney!

Hello SkinTalks readers! My name is Brittney, and I'm a skincare specialist at Korean Skincare. And that's when I discovered Korean Skincare! In this blog, you'll get to know me better, and I'll answer some personal skincare questions. But first, I want to share with you the latest news on our website!

How did you originally get into skincare?

TIA'M - My Signature C Source

Anua - Heartleaf 77% Soothing Toner

1. Fights signs of ageing: It helps reduce wrinkles and keep your skin looking firm and youthful.

2. Brightens skin tone: Vitamin C can fade dark spots and even out your complexion for a radiant glow.

3. Protects against sun damage: While it's not a replacement for sunscreen, Vitamin C can give your skin some extra

defence against harmful UV rays.

4. Speeds up healing: It helps heal wounds and fade acne scars by promoting the growth of new skin cells.

5. Soothes inflammation: If you have acne, redness, or sensitive skin, Vitamin C can help calm things down.

6. Improves texture: Regular use of Vitamin C can make your skin smoother and softer by getting rid of dead skin cells.

Just make sure to choose a good Vitamin C serum or cream with a stable formula, and don't forget to wear sunscreen too! Your skin will thank you.

Anua - Heartleaf 77% Soothing Toner

Let’s now talk about the Heartleaf 77% Soothing Toner! This product was really the best for my acne prone skin. If you’re suffering from redness, acne, and closed comedones, this may be your S.O.S skin saver. For me, it worked very well for my inflammations and my sensitive skin loved this product!

Keep in mind that all skins are different, and that everyone can react differently to the products.

What do you get asked most often?

I notice a lot of questions about hyperpigmentation. I explain that it's difficult to completely eliminate hyperpigmentation. But it can be reduced! Ingredients that can help with hyperpigmentation include:

• Vitamin C

• Niacinamid

• Retinol

• AHAs/BHAs

• Most importantly: sun protection

What is your "love your skin" moment

I love doing my skincare routine before bed, no matter how tired I am or how late it is. It's so satisfying to cleanse my face, apply my favorite products, and then go to bed with fresh, nourished skin. I also always create a relaxing atmosphere with soothing music in the background. There's nothing better than waking up in the morning with soft, well-hydrated skin. It's my little self-care ritual that I never miss!

Which product(s) do you always have with you?

One product I always carry with me is the RNW Ceramide Mist ! As someone who suffers from dry skin, this spray gives me a major hydration boost when my skin needs it. Facial mists are often underrated. You can use it during your skincare routine, but you can also use it during the day while you're on the go! I even use it over my makeup, and it doesn't run! Note, though, that it's not a setting spray, so it won't set your makeup.

What would you recommend to skincare newbies?

Keep it simple at first! If you're new to skincare, I wouldn't recommend creating a 10-step routine right away. Your skin needs time to adjust to new products. If you use too many new ingredients at once, your skin may react (with redness, small pimples, etc.).

What is a common skincare myth?

I think the most common myth is: The higher the SPF, the better the protection. Many people believe that a higher SPF in sunscreen provides better protection. This isn't entirely true; SPF 30 means you'll be protected 30 times longer than if you were outside without sunscreen. A higher SPF means you can wait longer before needing to reapply, but that doesn't necessarily mean you'll be better protected.

When it comes to sun protection, we'd like to remind you that you should always wear sunscreen when spending time in the sun, even in the dead of winter and on cloudy days. For daily use, SPF 15 is a good protection. However, if you plan to be outside for extended periods, we recommend SPF 30 and regular reapplying. Remember to protect all exposed skin and, if possible, wear protective clothing such as long-sleeved shirts, sunglasses, and wide-brimmed hats.

Closing words
